Save Up for a Battle Pass Through Gameplay The premium tiers of the batle pass can only be unlocked by spending Apex Coins, but there's a way to get hold of them without spending any real money. By playing through the free tier of the pass, you can earn enough Apex Coins to eventually unlock a premium battle pass! You can also get Apex Coins for free through Buff. How Many Coins Do You Need? You can progress through levels of the battle pass by earning battle-pass stars through challenges and leveling up. With a bit of patience and a lot of gameplay, you can grind through the free tier of the pass, which will earn you 200 Apex Coins once you complete it. By grinding through a few passes, you'll eventually accumulate 950 Apex Coins, enough to unlock the premium tiers. Furthermore, once you've got that premium pass, you'll be getting 1,300 Apex Coins every season with a new battle pass. Essentially, getting the premium pass once ensures that you'll be able to get it for the rest of your Apex Legends career (assuming you play enough, of course). And hey, if you're not feeling the battle pass, or have extra Apex Coins saved up, you can always head into the store and reward yourself with some great cosmetics.

Apex Legends Heirloom Shards—What They Are and How to Get Them
Have you ever hopped onto a game of apex only to die at the hands of a Wraith with a shiny throwing knife? Maybe you've watched a Valkyrie fly past with her awesome new tech-spear? Well, those cool items are called mythics, and they're the most satisfying and unique way to customize your favorite legend in Apex Legends. How do you get them? Heirloom shards are the answer. Heirloom Shards are the rarest and most sought-after currency in the game, and they're almost the only way to get your hands on your favorite legends' mythical 3-tier evolving Prestige legend skins and Heirlooms, the hand-held cosmetic items that your character pulls out and interacts with when putting your weapons away. Keep reading to learn how to get them. How to Get Heirloom Shards in Apex Legends Heirloom shards are pretty hard to come by, and you need 150 of them to build any mythical item. As of right now, the only way to get Heirloom shards is with luck when opening apex packs. Currently, the chances of 150 of those shiny shards dropping when you open a pack are about 0.2%, or 1 in 500 pack openings. Luckily for us, the devs at Respawn were nice enough to guarantee at least 1 pack filled with Heirloom Shards every 500 packs you open. Apex Packs Apex packs are fortunately quite easy to come by. You'll automatically receive a pack every few levels, and with the new level cap introduced in season 14, you'll be guaranteed 544 packs by the time you reach the max level of 2,000. It's also possible to earn more packs in the seasonal battle pass, event challenges, and by purchasing them from the store. You can also save up buff tokens to get free apex packs! Seasonal Battle Pass Purchasing and finishing the battle pass has more perks than just handing you more packs; it also gives you and anyone in your party an XP boost to help get through your levels faster for those guaranteed packs! So whether you're willing to pay for some extra packs, or you're strictly sticking to free-to-play, everyone is guaranteed some Heirloom Shards if they play long enough!
