Astralis

Astralis is a professional esports organization hailing from Denmark. This Danish firm is known for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) team. Its parent group is Astralis Group, previously managing Origen and Future FC before merging all esports teams under its brand.

HISTORY

The Astralis brand is relatively new compared to other organizations in the top 20 of CS: GO, but their launch in 2016 wasn’t where their story began. At the center of the first-ever S-tier Danish player-owned and run organization lies the story of Nicolai Reedtz, Peter Rasmussen, and Andreas Højsleth. The trio met in Copenhagen Wolves, where they competed under the in-game leadership of Henrik “FeTiSh” Christensen in 2013.

However, it wasn’t until the trio, and their team’s left the Copenhagen Wolves that they were able to improve significantly compared to their stay with the team. But they still became known as the team that would flounder as soon as reaching the semifinals, as they were always out of reach of first place.

But as years passed, it became apparent that the trio had to make some changes, and as a result, Finn Andersen was brought in from the bench to replace Henrik Christensen. Despite failing to win a significant title for themselves in 2015, the trio would be able to capitalize on their potential. And that year, they still managed to win several gold medals, five of which were in S-tier tournaments.

Flash forward to 2017, although the trio failed to play as perfectly as they can, in the end, they still made it to their first-ever Major Grand Final, where the last opponent standing between Astralis and the trophy was Virtus.pro, a legendary Polish esports organization. Two years later, though, they were jokingly referred to as the “Blastralis” due to the Danish team allegedly attending higher stakes LAN tournaments to secure exclusivity, among other things. Overall, the trio nevertheless broke new ground that no one can dispute.
