Which is the best gun to use in Call of Duty?

Never really played Call of Duty before, and honestly the amount of guns available in the game is a bit overwhelming, so I thought I would come here for some help. Which gun is the best to use in Call of Duty?

Assuming you're talking about MW2, there are a few to choose from, the actual answer is complicated, but we've found these guns are the best for each class: Shotgun: Lockwood 300, Sniper: SP-X 80, SMG: Fennec / Lachmann sub, Assault Rifle: AK74u, Marksman: SA-B 50, Pistol: X12, Battle Rifle: TaQ- V, LMG: RAAL MG
