What's the difference between Minecraft Java vs Bedrock editions?

Java is the original version of the game, while Bedrock is Microsoft's edition of the title. There aren't many differences to the core gameplay of Minecraft, and while the Java edition offers waaaay more seeds and flexibility, Bedrock is more refined and comes with worlds and game modes.
