How do sub-tick servers in CS2 differ from the usual 64 tick in CS:GO?

Asked 2 years ago

Hey guys, I was reading a bit about Counter-Strike 2 and all the updates, but all that info can get a bit overwhelming. I mostly care about the performance anyway. So, I thought this was the best place to ask: will CS2 have sub-tick servers? If so, how will they be different from the CS:GO sub-tick servers? Thanks.

So - a 64-bit server sends 64 "loads" of info per second from your client, to the server, and back again. On average this takes about 15ms per "load". A 128-tick is double the info, so twice as fast on average at 7.5ms. Now sub-tick sends packets when it needs to, (so a lot,) and at near instantaneous speeds- reaching 0.015ms response times under some casual testing. Basically- this means the servers are really fast and you won't be getting unregistered shots or movements.
