Fortnite's 50v50 is a game mode where the devs turned up the dials on nearly everything: bigger teams, more loot, extra materials, and faster matches. It was a limited-time game mode that had added something new every time it featured—but we haven't seen the mode since 2019. However, by popular demand, it's back. And it looks like it's here to stay.

Fortnite's new mode 'Big Battle' is a 40v40 and is rumored to be returning permanently, but with some major changes. This time round, you'll be jumping out of your ship without the ability to build structures. Zero-building was originally a limited game mode that turned into a permanent one through its popularity, and players expect the same thing to happen with Big Battle.

Along with the zero-building condition, the storm closes way faster, and you'll have access to loot and weapons that aren't available in other game modes. Big Battle has unique balancing changes and features SBMM (Skill-Based Match Making), so you'll be fighting massive teams who are around your skill level.

Fortnite's new version of the 50v50 will be delightfully chaotic—and even if extra guns, bigger teams, and faster game-play don't excite you, it's worth booting up Fortnite for update 21.50 just for the massive boom in players that will come with the start of the new season. Don't forget, the new season hype is also a fantastic opportunity to make some money with Fortnite.
