Fortnite has been around the block for a while now, and like many games, it offers skins to personalize your in-game character. However, what some people may not realize is the massive amount of skins actually available in the game. As of today, there are over 1,500 skins available in Fortnite, meaning that looking at your character can never get stale.

Different Types of Fortnite Skins
There are a few different ways of obtaining these skins, with some being up for grabs for a limited period of time. However, the Item Shop sometimes brings back some oldies, so with enough luck, you'll be able to pick up your favorites! Here are 3 main types of skins:
1. Battle Pass Skins
Battle Pass Skins are acquired by leveling up your Battle Pass rank, which changes each season. There are some free unlockables even if you don't purchase the Battle Pass, but you are definitely going to need some V-Bucks if you want the coolest skins.
You also earn V-Bucks from the Battle Pass. So, play enough, and you won't have to spend anything! For Chapter 4: Season 2, Stray is a cool skin from the Sign of the Fox Set.

2. Item Shop Skins
The Item Shop rotates regularly and has a different selection of skins available daily. To get these skins, you have to spend V-Bucks. For example, on April 25, 2023, the legendary P.A.N.D.A Team Leader skin was available.
3. Event Skins
Though they are definitely rare, opportunities to claim free skins do come in Fortnite. You can show off some exclusive skins that are usually only obtainable for those who perform really well during specific events. Earlier this year, the Gold Blooded Ace skin was a reward for players who earned 48,000 Infamy Points during the Most Wanted Event.
