Imagine having a sidearm that lets you move faster than you would if you were holding a knife, with no spread like Jett knives, while being a one-hit kill no matter where you land the bullet on your enemies. Similar to Jett's Ult mechanic, you gain extra ammo upon getting a successful kill with the gun. It's no wonder the Golden Gun has been such a popular addition to Valorant.

The gun alone has inspired players who normally don't play the Spike Rush mode to give it a try.

Play Spike Rush

But how do you actually get the gun? First off, the Golden Gun is only available during the Spike Rush game mode. Inside the game mode, Ultimate Orbs are replaced with Spike Rush Orbs, one of which is the Golden Gun orb that equips your agent with the Golden Gun.

For those unfamiliar with the game mode, it is a condensed version of the standard Valorant gameplay. While the objective is the same, it is significantly faster-paced:

  • Pre-round time reduced (20 seconds down from 30)
  • Game time reduced (80 seconds down from 100)
  • Fewer rounds needed to win the match (First to 4 down from 13)
  • The same loadouts are automatically given to all players (No more econ)
  • Ultimate Orbs are replaced with Spike Rush Orbs (giving ultimate points like Ultimate Orbs but also including power-ups, one of which is the Golden Gun)

Another thing to note about obtaining the Golden Gun is that if you kill an enemy agent wielding the Golden Gun, you will automatically receive it.

The Golden Gun takes everything you'd want in a loadout and throws it into one weapon to grant you incredible power. We highly recommend that you jump into a game of Spike Rush if you haven't tried it yet.

To make it even more fun, run Buff in the background while playing. This will allow you to earn points that can be redeemed for in-game items, which will then make playing even more fun.
