How often does Valorant get a new battle pass?

Not entirely familiar with all the Valorant systems yet, but I wanted to learn more about the battle pass system. How often is it that Valorant gets a new battle pass?

It's a little confusing at first I'll admit... There are Chapters, which are like long seasons, and within the chapters are Acts, which are about 2 months each. Each Act comes with its own battle pass, so there are quite a few passes that happen every year.
