In Rock 'n Roll, each team has a ball within their own lane at the start of a round, so even with ping, there's no big disadvantage you have, since your team will get to the ball at the same time as everyone else. The real trick comes in pushing your ball to the finish line first, and at the last stretch- preventing the other team's ball from hitting the finish.
