Mythic vs exotic weapons in Fortnite: which is better?

My kids are very into Fortnite so I wanted to join them for some family fun. They've been speaking about all these different weapons like exotic and mythic. Could someone tell me between Mythic and Exotic, which ones are better in Fortnite?

Hey there, nice to see you join in on the fun! Mythic weapons are the highest tier of the standard weapons you can find on the ground, I believe, while exotic weapons are rarer weapons that aren't as powerful- but invite a very different playstyle, such as the bow, and the dub.
