How many Apex Legend Tokens do I get when I level up?

Hey hey, I've just started playing Apex Legends using the S-Tier legend, Bloodhound. I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to level up and whether I would get tokens each time. I understand that leveling up goes hand with the amount of XP you gain, but do I get XP per kill and length of time survived?

Bloodhound is a great first choice! Every time you level up with XP, you'll get 600 Legend Tokens which you can save up to unlock your next Legend! You can get XP for getting kills in a match, but staying alive, coming top 5, winning, or killing the champion, gains you way more XP.
